The Best Feudal Japan Anime

If you are an avid anime watcher you are probably familiar with a subgenre of anime that might be called samurai anime. Over the years various animators and production companies that are based in Japan have chosen to take a stab at delivering their take on what Japan was like during what some might consider the warring states era. The setting for this kind of anime is feudal Japan where the characters and storylines find themselves being driven by or interacting with the fragmented political system in Japan during a time where power was distributed among a number of lords rather than being concentrated in a single ruler.

Oftentimes the audience gets to see the protagonists and other characters traverse the Japanese countryside while visiting farming villages, interacting with roaming warriors and coming into contact with minor gods and demons who are pursuing agendas of their own.

What this kind of anime tends to share is a common setting that places its storyline in feudal Japan and plotlines that arguably mirror the political situation that Japan was experiencing at that particular moment in history. While there are many different anime that deserve to be recognized as the best in the Feudal Japan anime sub-genre, there is probably little doubt that anime like Samurai Champloo, Inuyasha and Hayao Miyazaki’s Princess Mononoke should make the shortlist for being the best in the genre.

Inuyasha follows the titular character and his romance anime interest Kagome, a schoolgirl from 20th century Japan, as they go on a quest to find an ancient jewel and fight a demon named Naraku whose quest for power and status as a demon who absorbs other demons, might resemble real warlords in actual feudal Japan who were probably interested in consolidating their power.

George Soros Continues His Fight For A Better Life For All

Many billionaires who become major philanthropists publicize their work to the maximum potential, but for hedge fund billionaire George Soros much of the impressive work he completes is never publicized for public consumption. Instead, Soros simply seeks out the areas of interest to himself and finds groups who carry similar values and beliefs that allow him to make donations to their group without feeling as though he is compromising his principles. Forbes reports George Soros has used his own Soros Fund Management hedge fund company to create a personal fortune estimated at over $25 billion in 2017; this impressive level of personal wealth is matched by the fact Soros has given away a reported $12 billion of his personal wealth to causes he feel extend his own beliefs in an open society.

The term “open society” comes up often in the philanthropic work of George Soros as he has spent the majority of his adult life living and working under this philosophical theory that has its origins in France. The Open Society Foundations explains George Soros was born in Hungary in 1930 and faced personal persecution following the occupation of his home country by Nazi forces in the latter years of World War II; surviving the Holocaust that claimed the lives of more than 500,000 members of Hungary’s Jewish community has given Soros a desire to aid those he feels are given a full and fitting place in modern society. The open society theory that has proven such a major influence on the life and work of George Soros was interpreted for him by philosopher Karl Popper during his studies at the London School of Economics. The core principles of the open society include the protection of human rights, freedom of expression, and perhaps the aspect closest to the heart of George Soros in securing democratic governance for all members of a community.

Making sure every person on the planet has access to a democratic form of government has informed the work of the man who spent much of the 1960s living in the counterculture base of Greenwich Village, New York; George Soros began his philanthropic career in 1979 when he began providing funds for young black men to attend university in Apartheid divided South Africa. Other aspects of his work to secure democracy for those living under constrictive regimes include the purchasing of copying equipment in the 1980s and 90s to help secure the release from suppression of millions of people living in what was then the Soviet Eastern Bloc. Soros has also focused much of his work on the U.S. where he has been working to protect the rights of minorities during elections and to secure greater levels of freedom for members of the LGBT community.

CTRMA Looking At The Future Of The Transport Industry In Austin

While most transit talks in Austin focus on the city itself, Williamson County Growth discussion was an opportunity to air out transportation obstacles around the needs of the region’s suburban communities.

Present in the panel was RideScout LLC founder Joseph Kopser, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority Executive Director Mike Heiligenstein, Texas External Affairs Director Leandre Johns, ArgoDesign’s Jared Ficklin who is a transportation-focused product designer, and finally Uber Technologies Incorporated.

The event was at the Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel & Conference Center. Their theme of the discussion focused on how technology is changing transportation in Austin and across the globe.

Mike Heiligenstein noted that new technology like the driverless cars and Uber have radically transformed the transportation infrastructure, but Austin still needs to invest in smarter roads so as to increase its transportation capacity.

Mr. Ficklin responded to a question from the panel moderator, Mr. McGraw on what policymakers need to do to the transportation requirements of the future is to make building and land-use codes to remain flexible. Even autonomous vehicles need parking garages and roads.

While the idea of driverless cars came up several times in the discussion, Heiligenstein was reluctant on the notion of introducing driverless vehicles saying that the adoption rate was slow in his county.

He continued to say that if they don’t expand the roads, migration of people into the county will make autonomous cars useless as they will have no freeways to use. What they need is 12 lanes of traffic on Highway 183 and 129 in Austin. Learn more about Mike Heiligenstein:

Uber’s manager also said that Austin passengers need first- and last-mile solutions so as to get them onto and off of public transport. Mr. Johns from Uber incorporated also said that people need to make options that get individuals to think that it is not hard to get someone to the bus stop because they have the first and last mile met.

This meeting was the 19th year of the Austin Business Journal’s annual Williamson County Growth Summit.

Brazil’s Startup Market Is Hot According To Eucatex CEO Flavio Maluf

Brazil’s economy may be contracting, but the Startup industry is expanding at an incredible rate. More than 50 percent of Brazil’s population is connected to the Internet. There are 80 million users, and 43 million of them use a mobile connection. In 2014, 51 million Brazilians did their shopping online, and 10 million of those shoppers were first time buyers. According to Flavio Maluf, the CEO of the international building supply company, Eucatex, more than 4,000 new Startups opened for business in Brazil, and many of them are Internet companies. The Startup, Hotel Urbano is a good example of a company that is taking advantage of the Internet explosion in Brazil, according to Maluf on

Rio-based Hotel Urbano provides tourism information to Internet users who want to know about Brazil and other Latin American countries. The 2011 Startup has 12 million fans on Facebook, 500 employees, and a 2014 net profit of $400 million. His sawmill customers like the concept and sales poured into the mill. Flavio Maluf started Eucatex to handle the domestic demand for the ceiling tiles. By 1955, Eucatex ceiling tiles were in demand in several Brazilian cities, and Argentina wanted to import the tiles for their domestic market. By the time Flavio Maluf went to work for Eucatex in 1987, the company was shipping ceiling tiles and other building products to Germany and the United States. Today, Eucatex products are sold in home improvement stores in North and South America on LinkedIn. Progressives Fight Big Money with End Citizens United

Advancing Support for Campaign Finance Reform

With growing political unrest in America stemming from extreme economic disparity, there are many grassroots efforts proving that human decency still packs a punch in the face of dark forces. End Citizens United comes as a response to the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizen’s United decision, which opened the gates for special interests to sway elections with unlimited and untraceable amounts of money. A political action committee charging forward to reform the rules of campaign financing, the group’s overarching goal is to introduce and pass a constitutional amendment that would reverse the 2010 decision. The hope is that overturning the decision would be the first step in a road toward a more transparent political system that establishes accountability for donors and beneficiaries, setting the stage for a more representative government.

What Do They Stand For?

The whole movement means to get to the root of it, working to elect officials that would vote in favor of the progressive cause and stand up to dark-money groups. Additionally, they hope to help put in place campaign finance reform on the state and local scale, a much more attainable portion of the bigger vision. To make a new constitutional amendment a reality, it would need the nod from two-thirds of the House and Senate, and ratification by 75% of the states. The last amendment passed was done so in 1992, with America finding itself comparably in an irrefutably more divided state.

Show Me the Money:

Preaching financial transparency, the group’s makes their financial information available on their website (, showing that they have been raising ambitious levels of money as feelings of angst furiously swell under the custody of a new POTUS. This comes as a stark comparison to the stance of the new President, who has famously refused to release his financial records. However, even with healthy influx of funding, they will still have a hard time making the amendment a reality anytime soon. In the meantime, however, they do serve an important purpose in laying the groundwork of awareness on the small scale, which is necessary to gain majority support in the future and keeps a level of accountability in current political actors.

The Problem:

Many from the Democratic party are leading the battle of overturning Citizens United, as The End Citizens United PAC is met with opposition by Congressional Republicans, who are known to benefit from unlimited donations and other rigged elements of the system. With a flurry of excitement and support developing around the cause and others like it, the stage has been set to foster progressive values, working toward a more tolerant and equitable USA.

How EOS Changed the Lip Balm Industry

Less than a decade ago, EOS,, emerged from out of nowhere to take on some of the behemoths competitors in the lip balm market. The lip balm industry was, for a long time, defined by its lack of innovation. Products didn’t change significantly and customers continually bought existing lip balms even if they were uninspired by them. After all, there wasn’t much of an alternative.

When EOS broke through their product offerings were viewed as being fresh, innovative, and appealed directly to the largest buyer of lip balms, women. Previously, niche products weren’t designed for lip balms, and none with crossover appeal that EOS had. The bright and colorful containers that EOS sold in a unique applicator orb, started to soar off the shelves of Costco, Walmart and online on eBay and Amazon, but the information behind the design of this case is even more interesting.

EOS was founded by co-founders who had relevant industry experience and who looked to create a product that their customers could be passionate about. Women, the market segment that they concentrated on, complained about the problem of finding their lip balm in their purse. The standard tubes were easy to lose and hard to find in a cluttered purse. EOS created their applicator orbs as a response to that but made sure to stay away from the jar design that was used by some competitors as being unsanitary.

Beyond that, EOS used organic ingredients that were non-artificial in nature and this added not only to the taste of their lip balms, but also to the quality. EOS lip balm was created in a variety of different flavors that were fun and a far leap away from t standard flavors such as mint and cherry that their competition created. Using higher quality ingredients allowed EO to charge higher prices as Well and the brand emerged had a loyal following of customers.
