Stream Energy Offers Advice On How To Combat The Energy Drain On Your Wallet

Stream Energy recently offered some sound advice to their customers on how to reduce the high cost of energy bills through a simple method. This method is simple, yet often overlooked by many people who desire to save money but don’t consider the cost of their devices and gadgets in the home that are plugged in even when not in use.

Their simple advice to reduce your energy bills is to simply unplug gadgets and devices that are not is use. They go on to explain that even though a device or gadget may not be in use, having it plugged in all the time still uses energy and this can add up to significant costs over time. Visit Public Utility Commission of Texas website to know more about Stream Energy.

They show that even something as simple as an entertainment system that is left plugged in all the time can cost up to $130 a year in extra charges even when you are not using it. That can be a significant savings that customers can benefit from annually.

They call this phenomenon “phantom drain,” and with diligence, you can reduce the annual costs of your energy bills by unplugging devices and gadgets that are not in use, and that you must persist in this practice over time to reap the benefits.

They also suggest that you use an outlet strip for all your gadgets and to shut the power down on those batched gadgets when you are not using them. Doing this can combat the energy drain on your wallet. They go on further to suggest that you monitor your energy use using monitoring tools such as Smart Meter Texas if you live in the state. The History Of The American Institue Of Architects

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) has a very long history. Founded in the year 1857 in New York by thirteen architects who wanted to promote the scientific aspect and practice of the architects involved, the AIA was home to some of the best architects of their day including: Richard Upjohn, Henry Dudley, Leopold Eidlitz, Jacob Wrey Mould, and John Welch. Richard Upjohn served as the first president of the AIA. Originally AIA was founded and based in New York and called the New York Society Of Architects. The founders of AIA quickly realized that they we’re going to outgrow just being confined as a New York organization as more architects across the nation wanted to join.

AIA expanded their membership to include sixteen more architects. The AIA then filed paperwork for incorporation and as suggested changed to their current name. In another important act of legislation, the members of the AIA provided bylaws for the organization and groundwork for the true structure to the profession of architects. Up until the founding of the AIA, anyone could claim to be a professional architect. By the 1880’s there were local AIA branches in eleven different cities across the nation.

In present times, the AIA has over 90,000 members and has moved their headquarters to Washington DC. AIA is an all encompassing organization that offers structure and guidelines to today’s architects. The AIA have strict guidelines for members and is resided over by a Board of Directors. The AIA employs 300 persons for the day to day running of affairs and is heavily involved in the regulatory affairs and legislative process involved in the building of cities and infrastructure related to affordable housing for this nation’s residents. AIA supports it’s members with resources such as contract examples, educational support, and chances at additional professional development.

AIA works towards building a good foundation for future architects by offering professional development courses and the means to study for the Architect Registration Exam. AIA has locations across the nation, but also tries to provide a good, strong base across local communities. To read more about the history and see what is next for the AIA, please click here.

Academy of Art University – Shaping the Fashion Culture

“The next best thing” is the most popular phrase used during New York Fashion Week! Designers long to create the trends that shape culture; while consumers crave style that defines their uniqueness. It’s no surprise that when it comes to exhibiting both things, nobody does it better than: The Academy of Art University! For the 21st time on the runway, recent graduates of the Academy of Art University showed their prestige by launching five womenswear and two menswear collections!

The sky may be the limit, but creativity has none when it comes to liberating style for these designers. Hailun Zhou, MFA Fashion Design, from Qing Dao, China, was one of many that took New York Fashion Week into a new dimension with her galactic design made mainly from Vinyl and PVC.

From the 1950’s to present times, denim fabrics has never lost their momentum! Eden Slezin, MFA Fashion Design, from the Bay Area floored the runway with his organic denim collection. Slezin found a way to keep the momentum going, by creating a contemporary fashion spin on a vintage fabric.

The saying “beauty is pain” is no longer the vice for fashion. Consumers want to wear clothes that are not only stylish, but are comfortable too! Nobody delivered it better than Dina Marie Lam, MFA Fashion Design, from Los Angeles, CA. The passing of her beloved aunt, triggered Lam’s womenswear collection. Through her emotions, she was able to produce clothes that are warm, fashion-forward, and operative.

The impressive list of Academy of Art University designers didn’t stop with these three! Many more new aspiring icons, such as: Carlos Rodriguez from Mexico City, Mexico, Saya Shen from Beijing, China, Joanna Jadallah from Chicago, Illinois, Jelly Shan, born in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, Cana Klebanoff, from in Queens, NY, and Ryan Yu, from Shenyang, Liaoning, China gave all attendees a taste of their personalities and perspective of the world through clothing.

All things considered, it makes sense that since 1929 the Academy of Art University has stood firm in their mission: to help students develop their own style to serve the cultural wealth. The work of students continually proves to be exemplary throughout the years! As the university was the first art school to be invited to New York Fashion Week! It can’t be denied that the Academy of Art University has been the frontrunner in shaping the fashion culture!

Osteo Relief Institute; Leading the Way in Providing Viable Treatment Solutions for Arthritis Patients

In the present world, Arthritis is one of the diseases that have gained prevalence in the medical industry with over 50 million diagnosed adults in the US. However, people have little to no knowledge about it and frequently misconceive it for a single disease. The truth is that arthritis is not just a disease; it is a general term that is used to identify joint disease or joint pain. Furthermore, there are over 100 distinct forms of arthritis and has been recorded as one of the topmost cause of disability.

Arthritis frequently occurs in women and in people at a certain age group. Osteoarthritis features as the standard type of arthritis characterized by the deterioration of the soft tissue that is found between the joints also known as cartilage (LinkedIn). Dr. Matthew CiRullo explains that when the cartilage disintegrates, the bones rub against each other and the result is swelling, stiffness, and pain. Over a long period of time, the pain becomes chronic as the joints continue losing strength.

Osteoarthritis is incurable and it is mainly triggered by previous injuries, excessive weight, family history and age as the most common factor. Owing to its incurable status, it is prudent for a patient to take up self-management measures that will allow them to control the disease. Adapting to a healthy lifestyle characterized by light exercises or stretches and stringent weight management will help to reduce the scope of the disease. Low-impact muscle building activities will especially make the joint stronger without necessarily putting any stress on them. Medical options will work in tandem with the lifestyle choices to minimize the impact of the disease. At the last resort, a person may be inclined to go for surgical options with an aim of repairing or replacing the joint.
